There is plenty of interpretation and technology at each spot. The exhibits are close together and flow well - everything is kept up well and looks nice. If you're expecting an all day experience, this is not it.but, for a morning (about 2.5 he's, my teenager and I really enjoyed it. Some reviews complain that it's not much for the price. It all depends on your family's attention level. REALLY enjoyed our morning at the Aquarium. I spent over 4 hours there and could have easily spent another 2 hours if my schedule had allowed! Just a delightful place! The hourly demonstrations-talks at each station in the aquarium were perfect! I loved the small and intimate feel of the aquarium and being able to get up close with the animals. The tour really demonstrated what a positive place this is for the animals (and people) who are there. Seeing the water treatment plants was amazing! Its not something aquarium goers think about much - How much effort it takes to just keep the water clean and balanced! They truly take you BEHIND the scenes and into the ICU area where the severely injured and ill animals are recovering. I took the behind the scenes tour it was 100% worth it! Loved that our guide is a scientist who actually works in the aquatic hospital there. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable! It is obvious they love it there and work hard to see that everyone who visits also loves it! I found that the bike trails were better labeled.īeautiful place to visit! Up Close and Personal with all the animals. All in all it’s a beautiful park work visiting, just find a map online before you go if you plan on hiking. Now that I know that we can’t rely on the park to provide direction, I’ll make sure to have a better plan next time. We found a few other people backtracking on the trail for the same reason. We passed several intersections with no signs indicating what trail it was and missed a turn that we apparently were supposed to know to make. More importantly, the hiking trail we were on had very little signage. We’ve been hiking extensively through state and national parks and am pretty good with directions, but the lack of available (good) maps makes it difficult to get around. The maps they have posted are not like what you would expect at a park they look like hand drawn maps with no trail names or labels, only lines. There are no clear signs off the road showing where to park for hiking trails. Meaning that signs and maps in this place are lacking. The reason I took off a star is because it seems with this park, you need to know where to park and how to find the trail you want before you get there. Parking seemed adequate and the restrooms were surprisingly clean and well-maintained. Although the park was pretty busy, we were able to have plenty of time to ourselves on the trails as we only ran into a few people. Very nice park with lots of bike and hiking trails. Visited here for the first time on a late Saturday afternoon for a 2-hour hike.
